How much does membership at Sim Pilot Magazine cost?
Membership is absolutely free. All you need to give us is your email address. Our services will stay free in the future and we won't ever introduce fees for accessing any of our services (e.g., pay for article, pay for download). Sim Pilot Magazine is a community effort and we want the involved community to be as big as possible for everybody’s benefit.
Can I join Sim Pilot Magazine and not receive the newsletter?
The newsletter is an integral part of Sim Pilot Magazine and if you are a member you will receive it. Besides the goodies you get in our newsletter, we keep you updated with what's happening on Sim Pilot Magazine, or if we're amending the terms & conditions, or holding any competitions or other events. Receiving the newsletter is pretty much essential if you want to be part of Sim Pilot Magazine.
How can I contribute?
We're always looking for fresh and interesting contributions. If you have interesting material for an article, please let us know. You can also submit your own blogs on your very own blog page and build up a network of friends with similar simming interests. You can help the community around Sim Pilot Magazine grow by telling your friends. The more people know about Sim Pilot Magazine, the more quality articles and free downloads we can offer!
Why is there advertising?
As any web organisation we have outgoing costs as much as a high time commitment to deliver quality content. Advertising helps us to keep the quality high and recoup costs. Besides, it also informs you about new products you might be interested in to enhance your sim experience.
Will it help the magazine if I randomly click on the ads?
Please don't randomly click on the ads. It won't generate us more money and distorts the purpose of the ads. The ads are there to advertise products you may be interested in. If you are interested in a product, please do click on the ad to learn more about the product. However, if you aren't interested, please don't click on the ads in the belief it will help our site - it doesn't and just wastes your time.
Is Sim Pilot Magazine free of commercial interests?
No. Sim Pilot Magazine is part of the Sim Pilot Group which operates as a commercial entity. Part of the group is Sim Pilot Experience (our add-on development group) and there are other commercial entities planned - we don't make a secret of that. Having said that, we see Sim Pilot Magazine as a free community entity and we will keep it that way. We strongly believe in giving value back to the community and this is our way of doing it. We will from time to time promote our commercial interests, but keep this interference to a minimum. We don't see the main purpose of the magazine as a platform to flog our stuff, but rather as giving value to the community - and we'll keep it that way.
